RNC Chair race heats up; Still looking for a real champion

This race will set the tone for all future elections in the GOP. It will decide in part whether we will be able to rebuild the party based on top down or bottom up (grassroots) politics. It will decide whether we operate fairly and by the rules or make the rules say whatever suits our/their current purpose.

Doug Wead on "Inside the McCain campaign: what we didn't know"

December 6, 2008

Losing presidential campaigns always prompt criticism and “what if’s” but most savvy observers were surprised that Senator John McCain and his creative team kept it as close as they did. John McCain didn’t come away looking like a loser. He played a remarkable game with very bad cards.

I mentioned in one of my earlier blogs that Senator McCain had to have had a little conversation with himself. He probably locked himself in a bathroom and looked in the mirror and said, “Buddy, the economy is in shambles, the president’s approval rating is in the toilet, the GOP is a damaged brand. You cannot run a traditional campaign. You have to take big risks.” And he certainly did and almost all of them paid off, even if the inevitable happened anyway.

Now, we are learning little bits and pieces of what went wrong for the GOP. And especially about how badly they were alienated from their evangelical base and needed Sarah Palin to bring it together.

National Rally for Sound Money - Saturday Nov 22nd

National Rally for Sound Money - Saturday Nov 22nd!
38 Cities including OKC 11AM to 1PM

Our group is part of a nationwide rally to demonstrate
support for a return to a sensible system of banking and
currency. We wish to expose to American citizens the truth
about the Federal Reserve and our dangerously flawed Fiat
monetary system. We have confirmed several speakers
including State Rep Charles Key, Former State Rep Porter
Davis, and Charlie Meadows (OCPAC). The press has been

The Oklahoma City End the Fed Rally will run from 11:00 am
to 1:00 pm at the Reserve Building located at 226 Dean A.
McGee Ave. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. There will be
speakers, literature available, audio/visual display, and
hopefully a live feed of Ron Paul speaking at the Houston
End the Fed Rally.

Bring your signs, wear your tee shirts, and bring flyers to
share with all in attendance. This is our only rally
scheduled for Oklahoma, so we are inviting all our friends
from around the state to come help us make it a big one.
Many people are opening their homes to guests, so if you
need a place to stay, ask around and come join us on

The rally begins at 11 am on November the 22nd at the
Federal Reserve Bank located at;

226 Dean A. McGee Ave
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Our goal is to restore sound money principles in the United
States by return to currency based on real assets, such as
gold or silver, which is necessary if our country is to
survive into the future with any true measure of economic
stability or independence.

Did you know that there are still some people in Oklahoma
that do not know that the federal reserve isn't federal and
there aren't any reserves?! Let's reduce that number this
weekend and start the beginning of the end of the 'aint'
federal 'aren't any' reserves system which is still asking
for more of your money to put in 'their' pockets!

END the FED!

Most Americans do not understand that the Federal Reserve
Bank is a private corporation NOT a federal institution.
We oppose the existence of this private central bank on the
grounds that it is unconstitutional. The U.S. Constitution
does not give Congress the authority to delegate control
over monetary policy to a central bank. Our current
economic situation provides all the evidence necessary to
illustrate the wisdom our Founders possessed when they
drafted these ground rules for our nation.

We now have but two choices before us; (1) Return to our
constitutional foundation and a sensible monetary system OR
(2) Submit to a new supranational banking system that
supersedes the U.S. Constitution and surrender our
cherished sovereignty.

We also want to encourage support of the congressional bill
H.R. 2755, also known as the "Federal Reserve Board
Abolition Act" as the first step to restoring a sound
monetary system.

This nationwide rally being held simultaneously in 38 +
cities across the U.S. is a remarkable opportunity for
citizens to express their growing frustration with the
government bailouts of irresponsible banks and businesses
and could signal the beginning of the end of the private
banking cartel known as the Federal Reserve and remove its
unjustifiable power over the federal government and the
American people.

Powell's endorsement is a huge slap in the face to McCain

The condemnation of John McCain by John Lewis - a man McCain called one of the three wise men he would consult as president - was a huge personal blow to McCain. But Powell's endorsement of Obama is even more of a slap in the face.

Editor's note
: I do not agree with all that Colin Powell says in this interview, but he raises some very interesting campaign tone and tenor questions for us all to keep in mind as we frame issues for the American public.

As I have stated online, in my opinion, Sarah Palin was not enough, McCain needed the real right wing of the party and never reached for the Republicans who energetically supported Ron Paul and Constitutional principles. In fact he and his people went to extreme places to hurt and exclude 'those people' from participation even after he had the nomination in his pocket.

So please don't anyone blame Sarah Palin! She is a lovely lady with a Christian conservative perspective, even if she is a bit of a neocon. McCain and Bush and all their failed policies are not her fault. They do not reflect most in the Republican party either.

Republicans in leadership need to look in the mirror and get the log out of our own eye. Then decide if we really want people to be involved. Maybe we really want a few men to run the party from a closed room. On the other hand we may want to open our doors and play by the rules and work with everyone to try to free the country from the international bankers and globalists and neocons who are systematically working to destroy us from within. Maybe we will even find people on the other side of the aisle that we can work with to get spending under control and quit policing the world!

Everyone wants to be free and most understand that it requires personal responsibility!

Now could we quit with the name calling and slurs and racial stuff both black and white and left and right and let middle America get about restoring our nation to constitutional values and life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as one nation under God . . . at least that is my view of the elephant in the room!/sc

Gano Coffee - a personal report

A dear friend of mine, Gloria Evans, called me in the midst of my recent breathing issues and asked me if I like coffee. I knew she was a health, nutritionist type person and I briefly ran through all the ways I could avoid telling her that I love coffee and drink at least one cup a day. I told her the truth and she said I have a coffee for you to try that I think you will like and is good for you too. She promptly sent me a sample, and I tried it and loved it. Even more than that, at the time I was monitoring my oxygen sats with a finger monitor and I watched them visibly rise a couple of points as I had my morning coffee (in the afternoon - you all know me!).

Anyway, it is available online and is a multilevel. Now I am not good about doing multilevel. I will not do anything more about this than to let you know about it. If you want to get it through me and help my efforts a bit, that is fine. If you want to get it some other way or not at all, that is fine too. I just want to let you know about the coffee and that it seems to be good for you and I love it. Here is the link to my 'gano site' to order it through me - Gano coffee

If you share this with others and you want to tell them about this coffee - the link will be posted under Gano Coffee to the far left as a permanent link. OPINION, Sept. 26 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted by Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas of Elijah Ministries:

For the last twenty years, courageous men of God have warned our nation of these days. Our nation has sowed to the wind and we are reaping the whirlwind. America stands on the verge of possible economic collapse, where the bail out cure may be worse than the financial disease. Meanwhile Russia, China, and the Islamic nations smell our vulnerabilities. Added to these dangers is the increase of natural disasters. What can our beleaguered country do in such a time as this? Repent and bring forth fruit meat for repentance.

Viral e-mail forward mocks Wall Street bailout

Published: Tuesday
September 23, 2008

As retrieved from the Washington Post and numerous other sources, a satirical e-mail frames the proposed $700 billion Wall Street bailout as a Nigerian 419 scam. The author is unknown:

Dear American:

I need to ask you to support an urgent secret business relationship with a transfer of funds of great magnitude.

I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. My country has had crisis that has caused the need for large transfer of funds of 800 billion dollars US. If you would assist me in this transfer, it would be most profitable to you.

I am working with Mr. Phil Gram, lobbyist for UBS, who will be my replacement as Ministry of the Treasury in January. As a Senator, you may know him as the leader of the American banking deregulation movement in the 1990s. This transactin is 100% safe.

This is a matter of great urgency. We need a blank check. We need the funds as quickly as possible. We cannot directly transfer these funds in the names of our close friends because we are constantly under surveillance. My family lawyer advised me that I should look for a reliable and trustworthy person who will act as a next of kin so the funds can be transferred.

Please reply with all of your bank account, IRA and college fund account numbers and those of your children and grandchildren to so that we may transfer your commission for this transaction. After I receive that information, I will respond with detailed information about safeguards that will be used to protect the funds.

Ron Paul Press Conference Unifies 3rd Party and Independents

Ron Paul, who captured 1.2 million votes as a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, has urged the media to give viable third-party candidates the coverage they have lavished on McCain and Obama. The 10-term Texas congressman also urged American's "silent majority" to become active in the political process and vote their conscience.

[Editor's note: This article made some things really connect for me.

I have been active in the Republican for years and it is all about moving the ship of state to the right (or limited government via the Constitution) and the Ron Paul movement is doing that very effectively. Palin is a by product of that effort. If RP is able to unify the existing 3rd parties on certain issues the results will be huge not only in educating the public, but in making both major parties re-evaluate their core positions on these issues.

His message of "freedom" is a uniter not a divider and it is a small handful of power brokers that keep trying to divide us on these critical issues: National Debt, Foreign Policy, the Federal Reserve, and Privacy.

Rally for the Republic in Minneapolis Today - Back to our GOP roots!

We are gathered in Minneapolis today for the rally for the republic - taking back the GOP and returning to our limited government roots is the overall theme of the rally. It is an all day event with lots of speakers and entertainment planned.

I just spoke with our very own Bryan Thome at the Liberty Straw Poll booth!  It is on the Skyway level near where you get off the escalators.  Be sure to stop by the booth and say Hi to Bryan and pick up your LSP tickets while you are there.  This is an effort that should be being promoted on all our blogs and meetups because we are raising money and visibility for our candidates across the country.  We need it to be a huge money bomb and then we need to do something similar in ever state across the land.  Will you organize your state and help fund our R3 candidates from school board to state house to DC?

Doug Wead wowed the crowd and is now signing books.

Gotta run now will update again in a bit so check back if you like!

This event is being covered online and on TV.   C-SPAN 2 to cover the entire Rally for the Republic

Talking Points & Thoughts for Day One--RNC St Paul MN

Leadership through Service

and the sacrifice of our time to promote Real Leaders

In American politics today there is a lot of arrogance. One of the things that we must all be cognizant of is the value of our time. Our gift to others is through both the sacrifice of time and money. Real leadership comes through service. As we look at potential leaders we need to make sure that they understand the basic principles of limited government and God given rights in order promote them.

The constitutional, conservative, libertarian, wing of our party has been central to Republican efforts since the inception of the party. It predates the party in our founding fathers. Limited government ripples through our constitution and all of our decisions should be bottom up and decentralized with respect for core values.

The birth of the Ron Paul Movement exemplifies grassroots politics coming to the fore with new energy and life surrounding age old ideals. Our champion has gone from one man with a message to a groundswell of people running for office and taking back our country. Oklahoma State Rep Charles Key says, "Our rights come from God not from men. We will constrain government at all levels from overreaching and taking powers not granted by the Constitution. We will embrace the freedoms that have made America great once again."

For more information txt/call Rep Charles Key 405.397.7082 or call Mr. Brady Wright 405.650.1756 ============================================================================ TO MY FRIENDS IN MN TO SHARE WITH OTHERS AS APPROPRIATE DURING THE RNC CONVENTION

The Demise of Conscience

the welfare state and the warfare state have produced out-of-control federal spending, which has resulted in an endless cycle of financial, monetary, and economic crises, most recently demonstrated by the home-mortgage crisis and the 50 percent drop in the value of the dollar during the past five years alone.

See my comments on digg earlier today:

McCain does not equal Bush . . . I know it is hard to believe, IMO he is even worse. But if you choose to put him in office it will be with eyes wide open!

Lest you think the solution is Obama - I did not say that either!!

I am calling the nation to repentance. True repentance is turning from our wicked ways and asking God for His forgiveness. If you don't know what to repent of and turn from, ask God to show you His heart and to reveal Himself and His ways to you. He will do that for each person that asks. He will also do it for us as a nation - if we will but humble ourselves and pray and turn from our wicked ways. See II Chronicles 7:14 to ponder further and in context.

Please turn to Him today and then see what He will do on our behalf.
