Ron Paul: 'There's no difference' between McCain and Obama

Former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has declined to endorse either John McCain or Barack Obama, and he told CNN's Kiran Chetry on Thursday that he sees "no difference" between them because both espouse foreign policies that only create more threats to our national interests.

The Demise of Conscience

the welfare state and the warfare state have produced out-of-control federal spending, which has resulted in an endless cycle of financial, monetary, and economic crises, most recently demonstrated by the home-mortgage crisis and the 50 percent drop in the value of the dollar during the past five years alone.

[Editor's note: well worth the read - please share with your friends if you agree! I highly recommend that you place Lew Rockwell in your rss feeds. Check out Hornberger's Future of Freedom Foundation as well (see tag line). We cannot continue down the path we are on without bankrupting the nation. The root of the problem is spiritual. I continue to cry from the depth of my being repent and turn and see what God will do on our behalf - quickly please!]/sc

Running a strident libertarian campaign in the primaries, Texas Rep. Ron Paul tapped a seam of Republican frustration across the country...Across the state, lifelong Republicans like Mr. Bent who now identify more closely with Mr. Paul's cause than with the party establishment say they won't vote for Sen. Bacevich uses this statement as a backdrop for what he considers to be the American "empire of consumerism", as noted in his book, "The Limits of American Power". Watch these videos of his interview with Bill Moyers. Highly recommended.

Enthusiasm gap plagues GOP convention

While excitement is building for a Democratic Party convention capped by Barack Obama’s historic acceptance speech before a sold-out, 75,000-seat football stadium, the GOP convention the following week is shaping up to be a considerably more staid affair, marked by the conspicuous absence of many of the usual convention attendees.

[Editor's note: meanwhile in Minneapolis the Campaign for Liberty rally excitement builds with ticket sales at 8971 and growing daily!]/sc

Will the Antiwar Movement Strangle the State?

I want to start out today with something written by an early American revolutionary. This man was key to the armed revolution we fought against the King of England beginning in 1776, and more than that, was key to the revolution of ideas that had begun to grip the American colonies for several generations.

[Editor's note: If you only read one article today - read this one (a comment I saw and agree with!). Read it, ponder it, share it, blog it, study it . . .blessings/sc]

GOP distributes toolbar with spyware

The GOP is distributing a toolbar that is supposed to help generate revenue. It seems however that the toolbar does more than they are telling you. Quickly running the files through VirusTotal shows multiple suspicious files.

Why bother with covert surveillance when all you need to do is send out a download. But why spy on their own members?

Remember Nueces Today: Contribute now to turn defeat to victory

Remember the Alamo was a cry that came out of a defeat and became a victory ultimately. But it did not happen immediately. It came because people rallied to the cause and reminded people of the battle and pressed on to eventually win. Please Remember Nueces and donate something this week to make sure the battle there is won in Texas in the court
