RNC Chair race heats up; Still looking for a real champion

This race will set the tone for all future elections in the GOP. It will decide in part whether we will be able to rebuild the party based on top down or bottom up (grassroots) politics. It will decide whether we operate fairly and by the rules or make the rules say whatever suits our/their current purpose.

Ron Paul on Rachel Maddow on the future of the Republican Party

Ron Paul on MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show, Oct. 29, 2008. He tells it like it is and openly discusses the similarities of McCain and Obama in contrast to the message of personal responsibility and liberty and the constitution. He also talks about the rise in the number of candidates running for office in many states who are running on that same message!

We need to repent and turn to the Lord and ask Him to walk with us through the storm!

Ron Paul Press Conference Unifies 3rd Party and Independents

Ron Paul, who captured 1.2 million votes as a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, has urged the media to give viable third-party candidates the coverage they have lavished on McCain and Obama. The 10-term Texas congressman also urged American's "silent majority" to become active in the political process and vote their conscience.

[Editor's note: This article made some things really connect for me.

I have been active in the Republican for years and it is all about moving the ship of state to the right (or limited government via the Constitution) and the Ron Paul movement is doing that very effectively. Palin is a by product of that effort. If RP is able to unify the existing 3rd parties on certain issues the results will be huge not only in educating the public, but in making both major parties re-evaluate their core positions on these issues.

His message of "freedom" is a uniter not a divider and it is a small handful of power brokers that keep trying to divide us on these critical issues: National Debt, Foreign Policy, the Federal Reserve, and Privacy.

State delegate mistreatment by the Oklahoma GOP

Will Sen Inhofe and the Oklahoma GOP party leaders try to correct our vote?

The press release promised to the delegates by Gary Jones has yet to surface which I suppose is not surprising in light of all that I witnessed in the last few days.

Rally for the Republic in Minneapolis Today - Back to our GOP roots!

We are gathered in Minneapolis today for the rally for the republic - taking back the GOP and returning to our limited government roots is the overall theme of the rally. It is an all day event with lots of speakers and entertainment planned.

I just spoke with our very own Bryan Thome at the Liberty Straw Poll booth!  It is on the Skyway level near where you get off the escalators.  Be sure to stop by the booth and say Hi to Bryan and pick up your LSP tickets while you are there.  This is an effort that should be being promoted on all our blogs and meetups because we are raising money and visibility for our candidates across the country.  We need it to be a huge money bomb and then we need to do something similar in ever state across the land.  Will you organize your state and help fund our R3 candidates from school board to state house to DC?

Doug Wead wowed the crowd and is now signing books.

Gotta run now will update again in a bit so check back if you like!

This event is being covered online and on TV.   C-SPAN 2 to cover the entire Rally for the Republic

Talking Points & Thoughts for Day One--RNC St Paul MN

Leadership through Service

and the sacrifice of our time to promote Real Leaders

In American politics today there is a lot of arrogance. One of the things that we must all be cognizant of is the value of our time. Our gift to others is through both the sacrifice of time and money. Real leadership comes through service. As we look at potential leaders we need to make sure that they understand the basic principles of limited government and God given rights in order promote them.

The constitutional, conservative, libertarian, wing of our party has been central to Republican efforts since the inception of the party. It predates the party in our founding fathers. Limited government ripples through our constitution and all of our decisions should be bottom up and decentralized with respect for core values.

The birth of the Ron Paul Movement exemplifies grassroots politics coming to the fore with new energy and life surrounding age old ideals. Our champion has gone from one man with a message to a groundswell of people running for office and taking back our country. Oklahoma State Rep Charles Key says, "Our rights come from God not from men. We will constrain government at all levels from overreaching and taking powers not granted by the Constitution. We will embrace the freedoms that have made America great once again."

GOP Fight in NEVADA... McCain In TROUBLE!

Running a strident libertarian campaign in the primaries, Texas Rep. Ron Paul tapped a seam of Republican frustration across the country...Across the state, lifelong Republicans like Mr. Bent who now identify more closely with Mr. Paul's cause than with the party establishment say they won't vote for Sen. McCain.

The End of American Exceptionalism | Freeople

"The American way of life is not negotiable" is a quote from President George H. W. Bush in 1992. Andrew J. Bacevich uses this statement as a backdrop for what he considers to be the American "empire of consumerism", as noted in his book, "The Limits of American Power". Watch these videos of his interview with Bill Moyers. Highly recommended.

Enthusiasm gap plagues GOP convention

While excitement is building for a Democratic Party convention capped by Barack Obama’s historic acceptance speech before a sold-out, 75,000-seat football stadium, the GOP convention the following week is shaping up to be a considerably more staid affair, marked by the conspicuous absence of many of the usual convention attendees.

[Editor's note: meanwhile in Minneapolis the Campaign for Liberty rally excitement builds with ticket sales at 8971 and growing daily!]/sc

GOP distributes toolbar with spyware

The GOP is distributing a toolbar that is supposed to help generate revenue. It seems however that the toolbar does more than they are telling you. Quickly running the files through VirusTotal shows multiple suspicious files.

Why bother with covert surveillance when all you need to do is send out a download. But why spy on their own members?
